What's New

Real release notes for the ScreenClipr Mac app, pulled straight from the build history — not a marketing summary. Last updated September 22, 2026. Atom feed.

ScreenClipr ships small, frequent updates rather than batching changes into rare, big releases. If you bought a license within the last year, every update below is included automatically — see Getting Started for how updates are delivered, or our privacy policy for what the app does and doesn't send anywhere.

September 22, 2026 — v1.2.104 – v1.2.106

  • v1.2.106 — Internal reliability release: no user-facing changes. Hardened the automated checks that guard your preferences and save location against real-preferences corruption, and fixed nine regression checks that were not reporting their results.
  • v1.2.105 — Favorites/tag/app Library browsing now genuinely uses the fast lookup added in v1.2.101, end to end through the sidebar click itself. Also fixed right-click "Redact This Text"/double-click text replace occasionally running a redundant text-recognition pass right after opening a screenshot.
  • v1.2.104 — Security fix: fixed a licensing-check bug that could, under specific launch conditions, cause the app to incorrectly treat itself as licensed. All users should be on this version or later.

September 20, 2026 — v1.2.99 – v1.2.101

  • v1.2.101 — Fixed Library browsing scoped to Favorites, a tag, or an app reading every capture in your library behind the scenes before narrowing down to the ones you asked for.
  • v1.2.100 — Fixed the editor's text cursor and scrolling capture both briefly pausing the app on background text-recognition and stitching work; scrolling capture also now shows "Finalizing…" instead of appearing to hang, and Esc reliably cancels during that step.
  • v1.2.99 — Fixed the annotation canvas being completely invisible to VoiceOver and Switch Control; every annotation now gets a real, content-aware accessibility label, plus Tab/Shift+Tab keyboard-only shape selection.

September 19, 2026 — v1.2.95 – v1.2.98

  • v1.2.98 — Switched license delivery to key-based activation, replacing the previous emailed license file.
  • v1.2.97 — Fixed a bug where a stray keystroke anywhere on screen could silently dismiss or confirm the Image/Video capture picker; it now only responds to Esc.
  • v1.2.96 — Fixed auto-contrast sampling transparent pixels as black when a designed background is enabled, throwing off the calculated contrast.
  • v1.2.95 — Fixed a privacy issue where the on-screen keystroke overlay during screen recording could reveal characters typed with a bare Option key.

September 18, 2026 — v1.2.86 – v1.2.94

  • v1.2.94 — Fixed grouped toolbar buttons losing their last-used tool variant after any toolbar customization.
  • v1.2.93 — Fixed a stale selection-size indicator in the Library after canceling or being refused a rename.
  • v1.2.92 — Fixed the Recording HUD's elapsed-time readout freezing during window drags or menu use.
  • v1.2.91 — Improved reliability of the app's authenticated helper connection on launch, with a retry on bind.
  • v1.2.90 — Fixed a case where recording recovery could silently fail to restore an interrupted recording after a crash.
  • v1.2.89 — Fixed the PII detector missing some card numbers when a non-card digit run appeared immediately before them on the same line.
  • v1.2.88 — Fixed "Copy Link with Options": canceling now closes just that dialog instead of the whole share overlay.
  • v1.2.87 — Fixed the hourly auto-update check silently stalling outside the app's default run-loop mode.
  • v1.2.86 — Fixed the keyboard shortcuts help panel extending past the edge of the screen instead of clamping to it.

September 17, 2026 — v1.2.79 – v1.2.85

  • v1.2.85 — Added in-app Buy/Renew License, plus universal (Apple silicon + Intel) signed and notarized release builds.
  • v1.2.84 — Sped up filmstrip thumbnail decoding in the recording trim window.
  • v1.2.83 — Fixed the exported mouse pointer freezing at the wrong spot when a manual zoom timeline was used.
  • v1.2.82 — Fixed burned-in captions rendering at double size with their first and last words clipped.
  • v1.2.81 — Fixed OCR text-replace rendering the edited line noticeably smaller than the original text.
  • v1.2.80 — Fixed a false "some captures were scaled down" warning when combining captures into a layout.
  • v1.2.79 — Fixed QR code scanning copying the wrong code from a capture that contained more than one.

September 16, 2026 — v1.2.72 – v1.2.78

  • v1.2.78 — Fixed photos dragged in from Finder sometimes indexing under their raw, un-rotated pixel dimensions instead of the EXIF-corrected ones.
  • v1.2.77 — Fixed the Shared Links window not refreshing after a listed link was revoked elsewhere.
  • v1.2.76 — Fixed Quick Look not refreshing after trashing the capture it was currently showing.
  • v1.2.75 — Fixed the on-screen keystroke overlay freezing instead of fading out when a shortcut fired near the end of a recording.
  • v1.2.74 — Fixed a privacy issue where the magnifier tool could reveal content that a partially-overlapping blur or pixelate was meant to redact.
  • v1.2.73 — Fixed renaming a tag resetting the active sidebar scope back to All Files.
  • v1.2.72 — Fixed drag-and-drop out of the Library occasionally handing off the wrong file under a live-reload race.
